The current world climate is definitely one that none of us could have predicted. We would like to Thank You all for supporting us at this time and we really appreciate the positive feedback we have received from many families as we try to navigate the current situation and how it will influence the next steps of education for us all. Let’s embrace the next phase and remain optimistic and flexible. Please don’t fret or worry about “becoming” your child’s teacher – YOU ACTUALLY ALWAYS HAVE BEEN! Your children learn from you every day. The information we have from the Government and the Department for Education currently is that next week will be for us to engage in setting up our online learning from home model and Term 2 the school will be open for children of essential workers. Other families (a great number of you already are) will be learning from home. We will have online learning ready to begin Term 2 which will be directly in line with the learning we routinely do at school. This will assist your children with the familiar model, they will already understand what to do. They may just need some reassurance and extra questions at times to “Have a go”, “What are you thinking?” “How do you think you could tackle that problem?” etc. We really encourage you to enjoy the next 3 weeks with your children. Laugh, play, read books, play board games, draw, have card challenges, jig saw puzzles and just be together where you can to help keep them settled in what has quickly become a very unsettled world. They will continue to learn, it will just look different for a while.Continuing to work together as a community will help us to get through this time.Big thanks also to the wonderful staff we have at our school. As this crazy world delivers us new challenges each day, the staff have remained extremely calm and positive. We are so lucky at the JP!!
Stay safe everyone. Have a great family Easter.
