Recommended minimum exclusion periods.

PLJPS Health Information

Common Skin Infections

  • School Sores (Impetigo) - Until medical treatment from the doctor has been received.
  • Ringworm - The sores must be covered, when the child returns to school, after treatment.

Infectious Infestations

  • Scabies - Until effective treatment is received by the doctor.
  • Head Lice - Until effective treatment has been carried out. Use a fine tooth comb to remove the dead eggs before returning the children to school. The school has a supply of Lyban Lotion for sale.
  • PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD’S HAIR FREQUENTLY. Each child is asked to use their own comb and headwear.

Common Infectious

  • Gastroenteritis ( Gastro/Stomach Flu) - 24 hours after symptoms subside.
  • Chicken Pox - 5 days from appearance of rash or until symptoms subside.
  • Rubella (German Measles) - 5 days from appearance of rash or until symptoms subside.
  • Measles - 7 days from appearance of rash or until symptoms subside.
  • Mumps - 10 days from appearance of rash or until symptoms subside.
  • Hepatitis Until a medical certificate is produced.
